Brianna McQuade is a ceramic artist whose research focuses on the intersection between comedy and pain. She works with distorted sculptures that reference the psychology of anxiety and executive dysfunction. McQuade studied Ceramic Design at University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins in 2022. McQuade was an MFA candidate, and an Instructor of Record at The State University of New York at New Paltz, where she graduated in 2024.
McQuade was a Strange Clay Shortlist Award Winner through the Hayward Gallery in London, UK, and has exhibited in select venues nationally, including La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. In 2023, McQuade worked in collaboration with Michael Werner Gallery New York to organize and facilitate a moderated lecture between herself and the renowned artists Peter and Sally Saul, which took place at SUNY New Paltz. Currently, McQuade is working as a Professor of Ceramics and a Professional Assistant at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island, and as a studio assistant to ceramic artist Roxanne Jackson.
